Take A Vet Fishing is a nonprofit organization that I can say, without a doubt, is truly a God send for so many Veterans and their families.

I am honored to know David VanDorne who is a huge part of Take A Vet Fishing and I call him my friend!

Today, Dave, Rich Gallagher (also a great Friend) and I shared the water together on Dave's boat.

Between stories and laughs, I hooked up with a few fish that gave me some good fights. I was casting my St. Croix Legend Elite 7'MF Spinning Rod with a Daiwa Ballistic LT reel, at the end of my line was a few different Live Target crankbaits that gave me a 3 species day. (Northern Pike, Channel Cat and a Muskie).

If the boat never saw a fish all day, it would still have been filed in my memory bank as one of those great days spent with quality people. But, the boat did see fish...so BONUS!

Well, that's a wrap for me and Spring Rainbows. Brought in three, had a few get off and a few short strikes. It was another beautiful morning.

They did a controlled burn yesterday, which cleaned the place up. I wish I knew about it, it's cool to watch.

I enjoyed talking to so many St. Croix Rods fans this week. Almost every person that walked up to me was carrying one or plans to buy one.

The St. Croix Legend Elite and the Daiwa Ballistic LT combo just kept making me smile. So light, so sensitive, casts are long and smooth. I was able to let some folks cast with it for a bit.

Now to get ready for Bass Tournaments!
