Well, of the very few days a year we fish for bass, cant imagine a better day. GP and I went out 38th place in the Sturgeon Bay Open but tides changed with 28.16 today. Ended up 3rd out of 130 boats. Not bad for a bunch of Walleye boys. #MercuryProTeam

The Sturgeon Bay Open starts today! Hopefully a couple of walleye guys can compete! Practice was stellar! #MercuryProTeam

Heading to ND for a TNB show - first a Bleach solution for any invasive species from Winnebago. #MercuryProTeam

Day 2 didnt go as planned, knowing it was going to be tough with the massive cold front, I went out with the same plan as nothing in the box under 20. The morning was slow with a few 15-18s going back and then I went into scramble mode hitting several other spots. My spots yielded the smallest fish Id seen all week so finally at 1...sitting on zero, I boxed the next 5. 9.5lbs for 37th place, not the start I envisioned but none the less, still within striking distance in AOY. Put the Blackfish soft shell pants and Gale pullover to work under my BPS rain gear, an unbelievable combination in brutal conditions! Sturgeon Bay Open with the old man is next. #MercuryProTeam

Rough first day for me at the NWT tournament on Lake Winnebago. Redeemed myself a bit under brutal conditions and finished in 39th. My new Black fish clothing (amazing stuff) coupled with the Bass Pro 200 mph suit kept me toasty and bone dry! #MercuryProTeam #offshoretackle

Good start to the season on Day 1 NWT at Winnebago...sitting 14th with 15.28lbs but only about 2lbs out of the lead. Looks like Mother Nature isnt gonna be nice tomorrow, so itll be important to stay focused on a massive cold front. Glad Bridget and the boys showed up today! #MercuryProTeam

Fun day on Green Bay! #MercuryProTeam

When you run into cats like this, the crappie aren't very far away! This cat SWALLOWED a #7 flicker shad so deep, I had to use two pairs of needle nose pliers to set it free! Running into fish this size are just one of the many reasons to use the Best Board Rod ever made! The St. Croix ET86MMT! #offshoretackle

Ready to rock! #MercuryProTeam

The new ET86MMT from St. Croix's EYECON series may have been originally designed with walleye in mind, but the Best Board Rod ever built does an awesome job when pulling for crappie as well! At 8'6" they are the perfect length to keep lines seperated and "telescop down" to stow easily! Here's a couple of photos from a recent Crappie Masters event where the rods came in handy dealing with the Off Shore OR38's and 2-pounders! #offshoretackle

While waiting for the new Nitro to be wrapped...which looks great again, I made my typical trip up by Brett King. We dumped his boat in for a few hours and I got my first open water Walleye for 2018 out of the way. I also had the chance to try out my new Blackfish Zenith Jacket...pretty great start to the fishing season! Now time to rig my boat and get everything ready for the first NWT. #MercuryProTeam

Gonna go out on a limb and say hes the only Professional Angler during career day at school today...love this kid. And yes, he has a Flicker Shad tied on his line #MercuryProTeam
