I haven't fished the river near home in a while, so I stopped to say hello to my Smallies this morning.

It was so nice to be out. A beautiful mature Bald Eagle soared over head as I greeted each bass and released them back their homes.

I was using small plastics on my St. Croix Legend Elite Rod (ES63MXF), paired with my Daiwa Ballistic LT 2500 reel.

Yesterday, Dave and I fished our 2nd Mutiny Bass Anglers tournament of the season. We came in with our limit and a bag weighing 13.57 lbs.

I was fishing with my St. Croix Rods Legend Elite Spinning 7' MF and 7' MHF and both were set up with Daiwa Balliatic LT 2500 reels. I am amazed every time with this rod and reel combo. I absolutely love it!!

What a treat to spend the day on the water with fellow St. Croix Rods Pro Staffer, Ron Urick. Fish were caught and fun was had. #stcroixrods #bestrodsonearth

To this girl who normally likes to fish alone, this was quite spectacular to be in the midst of!

We ended up, I believe, in 15th place out of 50 boats, not the place we hoped for but not too bad either.

I really enjoyed the whole experience today!

Take A Vet Fishing is a nonprofit organization that I can say, without a doubt, is truly a God send for so many Veterans and their families.

I am honored to know David VanDorne who is a huge part of Take A Vet Fishing and I call him my friend!

Today, Dave, Rich Gallagher (also a great Friend) and I shared the water together on Dave's boat.

Between stories and laughs, I hooked up with a few fish that gave me some good fights. I was casting my St. Croix Legend Elite 7'MF Spinning Rod with a Daiwa Ballistic LT reel, at the end of my line was a few different Live Target crankbaits that gave me a 3 species day. (Northern Pike, Channel Cat and a Muskie).

If the boat never saw a fish all day, it would still have been filed in my memory bank as one of those great days spent with quality people. But, the boat did see BONUS!
